You can never go wrong with a simple thank you note (in fact, I think too few are written). My favorite way to say thanks, though, is to bake the person something sweet. Noteworthy "thank you" recipes follow!
Never Fail Fudge
Requires:
-2.5 cups sugar
-1/4 cup salted butter
-5 oz can evaporated milk (NOT sweetened condensed milk...careful, the cans look similar)
-1 jar marshmallow Fluff
-3/4 tsp vanilla
-12 oz package semi-sweet chocolate chips
Necessary actions:
-Combine first 4 ingredients in a medium saucepan.
-Stir over LOW heat until blended.
-Bring to a boil over moderate heat.
-Boil slowly, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes.
-Remove from heat.
-Stir in vanilla and chocolate chips until melted.
-Pour into a LIGHTLY buttered 9x9in. pan and cool.
Lemon Bars
Requires:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup salted butter
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp flour
1 tbsp grated lemon peel
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp lemon juice
Necessary actions:
-Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
-In large bowl, combine flower and powdered sugar. Cut in butter until crumbly.
-Press mixture into ungreased 8 or 9in. square pan. Bake for 15 minutes.
-In small bowl, beat eggs and sugar until lightly colored. Stir in remaining ingredients.
-Pour egg mixture over partially baked crust. Return to oven and bake 18 to 25 minutes or until light golden brown.
-Remove from oven and cool completely, then cut and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Enjoy and give thanks.
